At McCann Health London we’ve helped brands and businesses play a meaningful role for healthier lives since 1996. As one of the most-awarded creative agencies in the world, our ambition is to elevate the importance of healthcare communications and to impact better health outcomes for patients. We do this by combining science, strategy and creativity to expertly solve problems for our clients in today’s dynamic healthcare world.
2023 marked two years since becoming part of the IPG Health network, a collective of over 45 agencies and 6,000+ people obsessed with the future of health and inspiring behaviours that fuel better health. And it showed in our work; driven by collaboration and informed by a breadth of specialist insight and global perspectives, we helped our clients create bespoke solutions to the specific healthcare challenges they face.
Science-based approach: Our scientific approach makes complex, evidence-based science accessible and meaningful to clients and stakeholders. Our in-house expertise taps into global community insights to stay ahead of latest healthcare developments.
Integrated strategy model: Our unique model enables us to seamlessly deliver across medical, brand and engagement strategy, whether for the latest life-saving medications or nappy rash cream. With strategic effectiveness at the heart of what we do, we make work that works.
Creative excellence: Our idea-centric work attracted worldwide recognition well beyond the healthcare sector. Our innovative Smart Plants campaign – using NASA data in partnership with an Oxford University botanist – reached the pages of the Mail on Sunday and our varied award-winning work contributed to numerous network accolades including Healthcare Network of the Year at Cannes Lions, AdAge, Clio Health, New York Festivals and London International Awards.
Powered by technology: AI has been integrated into all aspects of the IPG Health network and currently, we have 100+ use cases for AI in various stages of development/implementation across disciplines.
2023 was the year in which we cemented our agency culture and values with EDI at the core. Our network’s EDI+You ethos reverberated through initiatives such as volunteering days within the local community and an agency hike up Ben Nevis which raised significant funds for secondary breast cancer charity, Make 2nds Count.
We continued to advocate for health equity, promoting women’s health issues such as menopause and breast cancer awareness, including a session on experiencing breast cancer in the south Asian community (as addressed in our award-winning Bread Exam work).
Our IGNITE internship programme reached the goal we had originally set out to achieve just four years ago – more than half of the creative department has now been recruited via Ignite, changing the make-up of the team and ensuring that our life-changing creativity is truly representative.
Our values of optimism, authenticity and originality inform how we live and our Shine awards help to drive a culture of appreciation reflecting those. We encourage personal career management and upskilling around career-critical developments such as AI and health equity. But all with a fundamental focus on wellbeing supported by our team of Mental Health First Aiders.
