Driving Impact in Diabetes Care: Medscape to Present 11 Publications at ADA’s 85th Scientific Sessions

- PMLiVE

Medscape Education is proud to present 11 publications at the American Diabetes Association 85th Scientific Sessions, taking place June 20–23 in Chicago. These presentations reflect our commitment to advancing diabetes care through innovative, outcomes-driven continuing medical education (CME). Each poster is grounded in real-world evidence from CME studies, showcasing the measurable success of online education in improving clinical knowledge, competence, confidence, and ultimately, performance across the diabetes care continuum.

Translating Education into Better Patient Outcomes

Our research demonstrates how strategically designed CME programs lead to tangible improvements in real-world clinical practice. Several studies highlight:

  • Significant gains in clinician understanding of continuous glucose and ketone monitoring, with especially notable improvements among primary care providers.
  • Interactive, case-based learning is an effective approach for enhancing screening and diagnosis of hypercortisolism in patients with difficult-to-control type 2 diabetes.
  • The impact of virtual patient simulations in supporting evidence-based decision-making in T2D diagnosis, treatment intensification, and basal insulin initiation, while also identifying ongoing gaps in obesity recognition and treatment.

Real-World Impact

Medscape’s research also demonstrates how educational gains are translating into timely treatment adjustments and helping clinicians overcome clinical inertia—a key challenge in diabetes management. Increased clinician understanding of automated insulin delivery systems is also evident, despite low baseline knowledge, highlighting the ongoing need for multi-modal education strategies.

Together, these findings affirm the role of high-quality CME in closing practice gaps and driving improvements in patient outcomes.
