Sanofi ponders which African health tech start-ups to bring to Paris

It's on the look out for those working in non-communicable diseases, telemedicine and HCP education

Sanofi

Sanofi is running a healthcare tech challenge competition for start-ups in Africa that are involved in the diagnosis of non-communicable diseases, telemedicine or chronic disease education for healthcare professionals.

The winners, whose tests will include showing positive results for their work in at least one African country, will join the pharma firm at the VivaTech 2018 conference in Paris in May.

VivaTech brings some 6,000 start-ups, investors, companies and tech leaders to the French capital, and will feature a Sanofi in Africa Lab.

Sanofi will later this month confirm which start-ups have been selected to come to VivaTech. It’s not the first year the pharma company has been involved with the event.

Now in its third outing, VivaTech will this year feature a booth dedicated to innovation in Africa, where up to 50 start-ups will pitch solutions they’ve developed.

Last year’s VivaTech saw Sanofi host start-ups involved in technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of Things, 3D printing, big data and analytics.
