UCB launches online clinical trial tool

Aims to help patients and physicians find its studies

UCB

UCB has launched an online push for its clinical trials, aiming to increase their visibility among patients and physicians.

The Belgium-based biopharmaceutical company has set up a dedicated section on its website that encompasses search functionality for current and upcoming studies.

The trial list will be updated on a monthly basis and the new section also provides a database of results from past clinical studies and more information about the firm’s trial processes.

Nathalie Vandenbruaene, UCB’s global web manager, said: “As a science-driven company, UCB’s clinical studies are essential to developing new medicines. We are committed to sharing information on clinical studies and making research results publicly accessible.”

Although UCB signed up to a clinical trial data sharing portal in 2014 it only received a mid-table ranking from an AllTrials audit last year. Industry-wide pressure from the campaigning group is set to be increased following the drive to name trial non-reporters that it began last month.
