Patients vs Pharma
This is the situation which the industry dreads, but in 2019 has become a reality on several fronts: when patients see pharma not as a friend, but a foe. We speak to three high profile ‘patient activists’ who are challenging the industry (and governments, healthcare systems and traditional patient organisations) where access has become, in many cases, a matter of life and death. Our investigation yields many questions, but few obvious solutions
about how pharma should respond; but there’s no doubt that these patients are truly ‘empowered’, and won’t take no for an answer.
