Pharmaceutical Market Europe - October 2019

PME October

Why yesterday’s thinking won’t solve tomorrow’s problems

Welcome to the October issue of PME. In our cover article, Chris Ross looks at why creative partnerships could be key to commercial success in today’s healthcare marketplace, and how, to make a real difference, we must look beyond conventional norms and drive better outcomes through creative collaboration – because yesterday’s thinking won’t solve tomorrow’s problems.

In this issue we also have an in-depth interview with Iskra Reic, executive vice president of Europe and Canada for AstraZeneca. Iskra talks about the strong growth for the company in China and how China has already overtaken Europe as the second most important market for AstraZeneca. She goes on to discuss that, while Europe is still lagging behind the US and China in its return to growth, the company has already seen Europe return to sales growth in the second quarter of 2019.

As we watch with bated breath to see what happens next with Brexit, and what our relationship with Europe will look like in the coming months and years, whatever the outcome, the UK remains united in one aim – to remain a strong and resilient country that supports its citizens and looks to the future with confidence.
