Astellas US has announced that Lilly’s Jeffrey Winton will be the company’s first senior vice president, chief communications officer.
Winton was vice president and head, global communications at Lilly, belonging to the global corporate affairs leadership team.
He will be responsible for corporate branding and reputation management in the US, reporting to Masao Yoshida, chief executive officer of Tokyo-based parent company Astellas Pharma. He has more than 30 years of communications experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Prior to joining Lilly, Winton held senior communications roles at major global pharmaceutical companies such as Schering-Plough and Pharmacia. He has a degree in life sciences from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
