Dr Markus Weissbach has been appointed chief operating officer at Irish drug discovery and development company DS Biopharma.
He previously served as the Dublin-based firm’s medical director, which he joined after a spell running his own consultancy.
Prior to that his 25years in the pharma, biotech and CRO industries saw him hold senior roles that included chief medical officer (Europe) at Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, president of Icon Clinical Research (Europe) and director of clinical research and development at Takeda R&D (Europe).
Commenting on his new appointed, DS Biopharma’s executive chairman Dr John Climax said: “I am delighted to welcome Dr Markus Weissbach into his new role within the DS team and I look forward to working with him in advancing the DS portfolio.”
