Inizio Evoke appoints Matthew Hoelzle as chief medical officer

Inizio Evoke has announced the appointment of Matthew Hoelzle as chief medical officer.

Hoelzle brings extensive industry experience to the position, which he takes on after most recently serving as executive vice president, medical strategy at Inizio Evoke.

He has held multiple roles at Inizio Evoke since joining the organisation in 2016, including senior vice president of science and medicine, and has played a key part in evolving its medical strategy offering.

Previously, Hoelzle was senior medical writer and then scientific director at Nucleus Global, and taught cancer cell biology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Commenting on Hoelzle’s latest appointment, Cris Morton, group president of Inizio Evoke, said: “Matt is a brilliant scientific thinker and trusted partner to our clients.

“He brings a unique ability to translate complex science into impactful, insight-led strategy – always with a focus on what truly matters for healthcare providers, patients and brands.”

Hoelzle succeeds Karsten Risch, who will remain with Inizio Evoke through 2025 as chair, medical strategy.

Risch has served as chief medical officer since 2019 and, in his latest role, will continue to support key client engagements and offer strategic counsel across selected business development initiatives.
