Langland appoints new non-exec chairman and board director

Graeme Arkell joins the UK advertising agency and Kate Spencer is promoted

Langland has appointed Graeme Arkell as non-executive chairman and promoted Kate Spencer to its board in a move that strengthens its senior management team.

Arkell is currently chairman of London-based PR firm Beige and a non-executive director of the investment and advisory group Ingenious Media, and has over 30 years’ advertising experience.

He has held senior agency roles at Saatchi & Saatchi, joining its board in 1985, and served as group managing director at Omnicom’s TBWA, where he had responsibility for the performance of TBWA UK’s 10 operating units.

In his new role at Langland Arkell has been brought in to assist the Windsor, UK advertising agency’s board in shaping its overall strategy.

Philip Chin, Langland’s chief executive, said: “Exceptional talent is the reason why Langland has achieved outstanding results over the years. Graeme’s appointment is consistent with our philosophy that to be the best, you need to work with best.

“Graeme brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, which I know will add enormous value to support our ambitious growth plans.”

Langland has also promoted Kate Spencer to its board. She joined Langland in 1997 and is currently global business director and heads up the agency’s patient access and retention team.

“There are only a handful of people in the world who truly understand patient access and retention and how this can be of true value to clients, and Kate is one of them,” Chin said.

“Combine this with the passion she has for our agency, her commitment to delivering results and the impact she has had on our business over the years, then her appointment to the board was a very easy decision to make.”
