Owen Mumford promotes Richard Simmonds to lead global marketing team

Part of management restructure at medical devices company

Richard Simmonds, Owen MumfordRichard Simmonds will become head of global marketing at medical devices firm Owen Mumford from July 1, 2013.

The appointment is a promotion for Simmonds who is currently general manager of the company’s international non-group business unit, responsible for international business development.

In his new role, Simmonds (pictured) will lead the newly formed global marketing team, which is to be formed as part of a restructure at Owen Mumford that will see the company work in five new regional management structures.

These five regions are the Americas (AM), Northern Europe (NE), Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Southern Europe, Middle East & Africa (SEMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC).

The global marketing team will work with the Owen Mumford’s international sales and marketing groups as well as the original equipment manufacturer business by providing strategic oversight and helping to co-ordinate support for all regions worldwide.

Richard Thomas, Owen Mumford’s sales and marketing director said: “The company’s investment in global strategic marketing underlines our commitment to opening up new markets and business segments worldwide.

“We already have an outstanding international trade record but I am confident that this new approach to managing our business on a regional basis together with Richard Simmonds’ appointment will further enhance Owen Mumford’s sales and marketing activities.”
