Digitas Health LifeBrands’s annual ThinkDigital event will this year focus on the rise of the customer in health and how social media has shifted the balance of power between brand and consumer.

The healthcare comm agency’s annual event will take place in London later this month and acts as a leadership forum of digital healthcare innovation for senior international marketing professionals in pharma and healthcare.

June Dawson, managing director of Digitas Health LifeBrands, said: “The shift in power from brand to customer has been anticipated in pharma for some time and at ThinkDigital14 our speakers will offer solutions as to where healthcare now fits into this new power shift.

“We will examine the opportunity for the industry to get closer to the needs of its customers through the delivery of more customer centric experiences. Action starts with understanding the real world patient pathway at a deep level.”

Speakers at the event will include industry experts such as Andy Jones, VP pharmaceutical innovations at AstraZeneca, Kristin Hallenga, founder of cancer charity Coppafeel! and Google director Gayle Tair. They will all discuss the ways in which their companies are embracing and utilising customer value in healthcare and pharma and planning for the future.

Dawson added: “ThinkDigital 2014 is an exploration of stepping into your customers’ shoes, how to understand their behaviours, how to reach them when they want to be contacted. Customers possess the power to make or break a brand, and unless the fundamental nature of this change is recognised and brands adapt to a customer first business strategy, they risk becoming increasingly impotent in the marketplace.”

ThinkDigital14: Customers in Control will take place on September 23 in London.
