World Environmental Health Day 2023

September 15, 2023 | World Environmental Health Day

As a business in the health industry, we’re always striving to do what we can to help improve the health and well-being of people worldwide.

As a business in the health industry, we’re always striving to do what we can to help improve the health and well-being of people worldwide. That means we’re committed to not only delivering high quality and engaging med-comms, but also to doing so in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. Our actions and behaviours have a direct impact on the world around us, and it in turn impacts us and our health. So it’s important that we strive to reduce the damaging impact that our lives have on the environment.

The European Environmental Agency (EEA) states, “By improving the environment and reducing pollution, we can improve the quality of life, well-being and overall health of citizens in Europe and abroad.”1 And, in 2019, The World Health Organisation found that 23% of total global deaths could be prevented through healthier environments while one in four deaths across the world are linked to environmental conditions.2

So, to make sure we were doing our part in working towards a healthier environment, we’re going above and beyond. Not only do we make it our mission to educate and empower patients to manage their health, we’re also doing what we can to be more sustainable in the work we do.

We took EcoVardis’s sustainability assessment to determine where we succeeded in sustainable ways of working and where we could improve.

EcoVardis is one of the most trusted names in business sustainability, and their assessment covers 21 sustainability criteria across four categories:

  • The environment
  • Labour and human rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable procurement

We’re thrilled to share that at the end of the assessment, we scored 96%, putting us in the top 5% of assessed businesses and earning a gold medal rating.

It’s great to know that what we’re doing and how we work is helping to minimise our impact on the environment.
