February 8, 2022 – Michael Grela, Evoke KYNE’s EVP, Head of Reputation and Social Impact, has been elected President of the Society for Health Communication, a member-driven organization working to advance the science of health communication by advocating for the use of evidence-based communication strategies that inform, empower and motivate individuals and communities to lead healthier lives. As President, Grela will be responsible for overseeing the Society’s newly expanded Steering Committee and partnering with Executive Director Diane Brodalski and Member-at-Large Shelly Spöeth to set and achieve its member engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion, and overall growth goals. “It has been a pleasure serving with Michael over the past two years and I’m thrilled to pass the torch to him as we as we continue on our journey of building a stronger, more connected field,” said Terry Savage, Vice President, Westat, and 2020-2021 Society President.

At Evoke KYNE, Michael oversees client engagements in health equity, reputation and social impact as well as the agency’s own social impact programs, external communications, awards and publications, thought leadership and related employee engagement.

“Evoke KYNE congratulates Michael on this honor and recognizes his impressive contributions to the field of health communication and our industry,” said Maureen Byrne, Partner, Evoke KYNE. “The Society’s work has never been more critical and this milestone showcases our collective and enduring belief that communication is a powerful health intervention that can help improve and save lives.”
