Although it will be tempting to resume in-person activities in the same capacity as before, we need to weigh the pros and cons of virtual vs. in-person vs. hybrid events when deciding on future engagement strategies.
This year, COVID-19 abruptly put a (temporary) stop to our ability to host and attend in-person meetings and events. As a result, there has been a huge surge in virtual events. In the post-COVID world, although it will be tempting to resume in-person activities in the same capacity as before, we need to weigh the pros and cons of virtual vs. in-person vs. hybrid events when deciding on future engagement strategies.
With so much focus on the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing travel restrictions, it is also easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. However, the climate crisis has not gone anywhere, and minimizing our environmental footprint is more important than ever.
