Innovative Trials, has been named Best Global Patient Recruitment Company by the Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards 2021. The awards, organised by Global Health & Pharma and now in their sixth year, aim to recognise ‘innovation, determination and outstanding levels of care demonstrated by those who place our wellbeing at the forefront of their practice’.

Founded in 2010, Innovative Trials is a UK-based company that works with some of the biggest pharmaceutical companies and Clinical Research Organisations (CROs) globally to help them reach their patient recruitment targets for trials, keep patients engaged and avoid costly delays in bringing effective new treatments to market. With a mission to accelerate recruitment to help bring treatments to patients sooner, the company has so far:

● worked on nearly 200 clinical trials
● recruited around 40,000 people into clinical trials
● played a part in six new treatments being approved for patients across the world.

In 2020, Innovative Trials also launched a campaign alongside two other organisations to ensure patients from under-represented ethnic groups are fairly represented in UK clinical and health research.

Kate Shaw, founder and CEO of Innovative Trials, said: “We are thrilled to receive such a ringing endorsement of our work, which is entirely due to the dedication of every single member of the team. At the heart of what we do is the drive to get life-changing medicines to patients more quickly; any delays to the clinical trial process inevitably means delays in getting potentially effective treatments to those who need them most. Indeed, one of our areas of expertise lies in supporting trials in danger of failing due to lack of participants. We work closely with sites and local communities to develop tailored strategies to engage, recruit and retain patients to ensure the trial can continue. It is one of the reasons our clients come back to us again and again.”

The Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Award is the second accolade to be given to Innovative Trials this year. The company was presented with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in June for its work to help bring new medicines to market.
