Another Landmark Lucid Workiversary

- PMLiVE

We’re celebrating another landmark Workiversary with Richard Barry, Senior Medical Writer. Richard has now been a Lucidian for an impressive 10 years, so we thought it was only fitting to find out a bit more about his Lucid journey to date.

Where did your passion for science begin and what brought you into MedComms and eventually Lucid?

My fascination with science started at school – I have always read a lot about the sciences and enjoy the journey of discovery. After university, I worked as a post-doc researcher in academia and biotech companies. I really enjoyed writing about my work and that led me into MedComms. Lucid’s unique approach to MedComms stood out from the rest and that was why I joined the company.

What has kept you at Lucid for so long?

Lucid is by far the best company that I have worked for as a medical writer – it provides that perfect combination of allowing you to work with and learn independently from experts in a particular therapy area, but always with great support from your colleagues.

What is your favourite memory from your time at Lucid?

I think some of the work trips with colleagues have been great experiences – across Europe, Latin America, South Korea and Japan – there are not many jobs where you have these opportunities!

What are you excited for about the future here at Lucid?

When I joined Lucid, the whole company could (just) fit into one meeting room – it has been amazing to watch Lucid grow and continually produce innovative work. Long may it continue…

Farah Dalwai, Scientific Director at Lucid Group, commented, “Richard has a wealth of experience which has been an invaluable support in developing the team’s therapy area knowledge, KOL relationships and client partnerships. One of his most admirable qualities is to simply get the job done regardless of challenging timelines, experts’ hectic schedules and the changing needs of our clients, all against a backdrop of increasingly challenging compliance requirements. With his unassuming, diligent and quietly confident manner, Richard always goes above and beyond to deliver outstanding work, every time. It is obvious how much clients appreciate and respect his opinion and knowledge of the therapy area. Wishing you a very Happy Workiversary from all the team and looking forward to another 10 years!”

We’re always looking for talented medical writers like Richard. So, if you’re looking for a new challenge and you want to join a purpose-driven company with a people-first culture,
