Lucid Group launches charity partnership with Wycombe Homeless Connection

- PMLiVE
Lucid Group is delighted to announce the launch of its charity working group – LUCID SPIRIT – and its partnership with a local charity, Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC), who provide life-changing support to homeless people in High Wycombe.

“The synergies between Lucid and WHC played an important role in why everyone at Lucid voted to support them and their work – we share the same passion to make a difference and transform lives through our work,” commented Dennis O’Brien, Co-Founder and CEO.

LUCID SPIRIT took the opportunity to get some first-hand experience of the work this amazing charity does… Invited to the Wycombe Winter Night Shelter, Lucid headed to one of the seven nightly locations in the heart of High Wycombe. To call what WHC provides a vital service under sells it completely. The guests get a warm safe bed, hot meal, shower and medical support; basic things we all might take for granted.

Lucid also visited one of WHC’s daily drop-in sessions. This service, manned by staff and volunteers, exists to provide practical, emotional and social support for those who are affected by homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. The team work tirelessly not only to help people find accommodation, but also to keep them in accommodation by helping them access healthcare and social care, to budget effectively and manage their income, and to fill in complicated forms. They work in partnership with their clients, walking with them on their journey to stability.

Lucid came away from both these experiences both impressed and humbled and with reinforced determination to fundraise and provide as much support as possible for WHC so more people can access the transformative support they provide. Fundraising efforts have already started with many people preparing to take part in a Tough Mudder at the end of April.
