Full Panel Discussion: Closing The Gaps In Patient-Centricity

On 11th September, the Medscape team came together at the Eiffel Tower for an exciting event attended by expert faculty, patient advocates and more than a hundred supporters of our oncology education programmes. The discussion panel consisted of world-renowned experts, including WebMD CMO John Whyte MD, Nadia Harbeck, MD, PhD, Lesley Fallowfield, DBE, BSc, DPhil, FMedSci and Steve Clarke, patient advocate and campaigns ambassador, Cancer Research UK, volunteer patient voice, Bowel Cancer UK, and founder of Strive for Five. The discussions focused on the perceived gaps in patient centricity from physician and patient perspectives and considered what improvements are needed to further advance oncology outcomes.Steve Dunn, Oncology Team Lead and Executive Director commented, “Our event at the Eiffel Tower has provoked much interest in the need for focused education that provides the right skills for physicians and the care team to effectively communicate and collaborate with their patients to help them make the best decisions about their future care together.
