Global Healthy Living Foundation and Medscape Education Join Forces to Bridge the Gap Between Patients and Providers with Immunology Education

- PMLiVE

UPPER NYACK, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Global Healthy Living Foundation (GHLF) today announced a new partnership with Medscape Education to advance patient-centered innovation within the Immunology Learning Nexus (Nexus), Medscape’s flagship multi-year curriculum dedicated to optimizing care for patients with chronic autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

“By partnering with GHLF, we are ensuring that clinician education is grounded in the authentic realities of patients, and rooted in credible, evidence-based patient experience.”

Launched in early 2024, Nexus has already engaged more than 100,000 healthcare professionals (HCPs) through 11 interactive educational activities offering free continuing medical education credits. The program has cultivated a vibrant learning community dedicated to improving outcomes across rheumatology, dermatology, and gastroenterology. This year, Nexus builds upon that foundation with an expanded focus by integrating GHLF’s patient-reported outcomes (PROs) to develop provider education that is even more relevant and actionable, by directly tying to the lived experience of patients.

PRO Data Incorporated

As part of this effort, GHLF will activate its PatientSpot® registry to capture dynamic, real-world PRO data from thousands of patients with rheumatologic, dermatologic, and gastrointestinal conditions. These insights will feed into Nexus programming to help clinicians better understand how symptoms, treatment experiences, and quality of life challenges play out in daily life. By embedding these authentic patient perspectives into continuing education, the collaboration aims to foster more empathetic, informed, and effective patient-provider relationships.

“This is a breakthrough moment,” said Seth Ginsberg, Co-Founder and President of GHLF. “Too often, the clinical and patient experience is siloed in separate worlds. The Medscape Education/GHLF partnership creates a bridge that connects patient voices directly to provider education. That alignment will drive better decisions in the exam room and contribute to better outcomes for patients,” he added.

The collaboration represents a larger, ongoing partnership between GHLF and Medscape Education, where the two organizations will leverage their complementary strengths: GHLF’s global patient communities, research infrastructure, and digital engagement channels, together with Medscape’s unmatched reach and authority in provider education. Together, the team is building a two-way channel of understanding that places patients and providers on the same side of the table.

“Medscape Education is committed to advancing clinical knowledge to enhance patient care,” said Doug Kaufman, Senior Vice President of Medscape Education.

“By partnering with GHLF, we are ensuring that clinician education is grounded in the authentic realities of patients, and rooted in credible, evidence-based patient experience. Our shared mission is to bring patient voices into the conversation, and to equip both providers and patients with tools for understanding not just clinical facts and data, but using this knowledge, in the clinic, with clarity and compassion.”

The first phase of the expanded Nexus collaboration is supported through an independent educational grant from AbbVie. Additional joint initiatives are expected to follow, continuing to demonstrate how education rooted in patient experience can transform healthcare.
