Humanizing Healthcare & Medical Education: The Power of Patient Integration

True ‘patient-centricity’ goes beyond treating disease—it means ensuring that patient voices shape research, decision-making, and medical education. We are in the era of Patient Integration, where the patient voice is more powerful than ever. As part of this commitment, we are thrilled to announce Victoria Harvey-Jones as the new Worldwide Patient Integration Lead at Medscape Education. In this role, Victoria will spearhead innovative initiatives to bridge the gap between HCP education and patient perspectives

Medscape Education at the 7th Patient Centricity & Collaboration World Congress 2025

On Tuesday, 25 February, at 11:15 AM, Medscape Education will host a key session at the 7th Patient Centricity & Collaboration World Congress 2025 at the Copthorne Tara Hotel, London. Victoria Harvey-Jones will be joined by Rachel Grimley, PhD (Senior VP of Drug Discovery, Cancer Research Horizons) and Kevin Fernando, MRCGP, MRCP(UK) (GP & Educator) to present:

“Humanizing Healthcare, Humanizing Education: The Power of Patient Integration.”

This session will explore the critical role of patient integration in healthcare, focusing on:

  • Patient-Integrated Research – How early patient involvement improves pre-clinical research, trial design and patient-focused outcomes.
  • Shared Decision-Making – The importance of understanding the individual person, as well as effective communication in building trust and confidence to empower patients to have an active role in their care .
  • Medical Education – The impact of integrating lived experience and communication  into HCP learning, alongside critical disease- and treatment-centric education, to provide a comprehensive approach to advancing person-centered care.

By embedding patient perspectives into every stage of healthcare, we can drive meaningful change and ensure that care is truly human-centered.

Join us at the event and be part of the movement to humanize healthcare and humanize education.
