Impacting Lives with Rare Disease Education

September 26, 2023 | Medscape, medical education, rare disease

- PMLiVE

Education on rare diseases is crucial. Estimates suggest there are approximately 10,000 rare diseases, with 263–446 million people affected worldwide.

Since its launch in September 2022, the Medscape Pathways in Rare Disease Learning Centre has reached over 1 million learners, with education spanning 25 therapeutic areas – helping to advance clinical practice and ultimately improve patient outcomes through its medical education programs.

Achieving 1 million learners is an incredible milestone for Medscape, potentially impacting over 900,000 patient lives positively every month. Medscape is proud to be part of the Rare Disease Campaign featured in The Guardian and online.

Read the full article to learn more about the Medscape Pathways in Rare Disease Learning Centre and the current gaps in rare disease education from the recently published results of a multispecialty, multinational survey of 978 clinicians across 16 specialties here.
