Medscape Education is proud to share its monumental success at the EHA 2024 Congress. Our continued commitment to patient-centric medical education was evident throughout the event, with notable achievements and a significant presence at the congress.
Our three patient-centric symposia were a resounding success, attracting 1,317 registrants and 929 live attendees. This impressive turnout underscores the high level of interest and engagement in our innovative approach to integrating patient perspectives into hematology education. Each symposium featured expert faculty members, including patient advocates, ensuring that the patient voice and lived experiences of those living with the disease were represented alongside the clinical information for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and myelofibrosis (MF). This collaboration with patient advocacy groups is a testament to our commitment to humanizing healthcare and enhancing patient outcomes.
“In line with our mission to humanize healthcare and work collaboratively with patients and global patient advocacy organizations as part of our education planning and execution, I am delighted with the success of our three patient-centric independent satellite symposia at this year’s EHA,” says Victoria Harvey-Jones, PhD, Associate Director of Clinical Strategy at Medscape Oncology Global.
Educating healthcare providers on the foundations of patient-centric care—where a patient’s needs and concerns are thoroughly integrated into their treatment plan—remains a priority at Medscape. Our ongoing collaborations and groundbreaking educational activities provide evidence-based data that support the efficacy of patient-centric approaches in medical education.
“We aim to provide a holistic, all-encompassing approach to education, thereby supporting HCPs to have both knowledgeable and compassionate conversations with their patients,” adds Dr. Harvey-Jones. “Ultimately, this empowers each person, as well as their family, in shared decision-making to live their life as they wish.”
Medscape Education’s long history as a global leader in continuing medical education is marked by its innovative transformation to include patient perspectives in every aspect of its programs.
