Medscape Education Global to Deliver Educational Opportunities at European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2022

The Medscape Oncology Global team will be on-site in Paris, France for ESMO 2022 to deliver educational opportunities to clinicians. According to ESMO’s mission, they are, “the leading professional organisation for medical oncology. With more than 25,000 members representing oncology professionals from over 160 countries worldwide, ESMO is the society of reference for oncology education and information. “
During the conference, Medscape Education Global will host two education symposia designed to engage clinicians in dynamic presentations between faculty by using novel technology that allows attendees to interact with the presenters, ask questions and more.
The symposia being presented are:
In addition to the activities at the conference, Medscape Education Global will host an exciting event at the Eiffel Tower on September 11th. The event will feature a panel discussion moderated by Dr. John Whyte, WebMD CMO, on closing the gaps in patient centricity.
“We’re looking forward to attending ESMO this year and reaching clinicians with our educational symposia. Our presentation at the Eiffel Tower will also be a great opportunity to explore the gaps in patient centricity and consider what improvements are needed to further advance oncology outcomes,” said Dr. John Whyte.
The panel discussion will also feature Dame Professor Lesley Fallowfield, DBE, BSc, DPhil, FMedSci, Professor Nadia Harbeck, MD, PhD and Mr Steve Clark, a volunteer patient voice at Bowel Cancer UK, Campaigns Ambassador for Cancer Research UK, and Founder of Strive for Five.
Dr Lisa Wilde, Director of Research and External Affairs at Bowel Cancer UK, says: “We couldn’t be more delighted for Steve Clark to be speaking on behalf of thousands of bowel cancer patients about patient centricity and the importance of enhancing communication and collaboration to advance oncology outcomes. And we are very grateful to him for generously donating his fee from Medscape Oncology to help our influencing work to improve personalised treatments and outcomes for people with advanced bowel cancer. Patients like Steve, who are living with stage 4 bowel cancer, often only have access to a “one-size fits all” approach to treatment and care, but we hope that improving communication, collaboration and putting patients at the heart of their treatment will help save more lives.”
