Shining a Spotlight on Patient Centricity in Frankfurt for EHA

- PMLiVE

The Medscape Oncology team has made their way back from Frankfurt, Germany after another successful EHA 2023 conference. While at the event, the team interacted with conference attendees at the exhibit floor booth, where they learned more about how members use Medscape education and resources and shared with others the benefits of being a Medscape member.

The team also went beyond the booth to continue Medscape’s commitment to disseminating the outcomes of their education programs in hematology in the form of two online publications which can be found here:

A highlight of the EHA conference was Medscape Oncology’s event at the Natural History Museum, where a panel of leading faculty from across Europe gathered to discuss the important topic of patient centricity. María-Victoria Mateos, MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine, University of Salamanca, Salamanca, Spain moderated the panel, with Dame Lesley Fallowfield, DBE, BSc, DPhil, FMedSci, Sussex Health Outcomes Research and Education in Cancer (SHORE-C), Brighton and Sussex, Medical School University of Sussex Brighton, United Kingdom; and Lorna Warwick, Chief Executive Officer, Lymphoma Coalition speaking. The panel discussion covered the perceived gaps in patient centricity from a physician and patient perspective and considered what improvements are needed to further advance hematology care. The event was presented in collaboration with Lymphoma Coalition and SHORE-C.

“Patient centricity is so important in haematology care, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with Lymphoma Coalition and SHORE-C and discuss the educational gaps and needs within this. By continuing to explore and discuss this topic we can help improve care for patients with blood cancers, and ultimately advance health outcomes and patients’ lives. This is a key area of focus for Medscape Oncology, with a growing number of education activities with patient centricity at their heart.” said Victoria Harvey-Jones, PHD, Associate Director of Clinical Strategy, Medical Oncology.
