Chiesi has appointed Maria Paola Chiesi as Chair of the Board. She is succeeding Alessandro Chiesi, who is completing his tenure after nearly three years in the role, and will now continue to serve as Vice Chair. This is a planned leadership change to the Board of Directors.
The Board unanimously appointed Maria Paola Chiesi as Chair, effective immediately. As a member of the Chiesi family and Board, and through her operational roles over the last 30 years, she has played a central role in shaping the Group’s strategic planning and in embedding sustainability as a core driver of business decisions. This appointment also marks an important milestone in the Group’s history, as she becomes the first woman to be Chair of Chiesi.
Maria Paola Chiesi said: “I take on this new role with a deep sense of accountability, and with the aim to reinforce our continuity and commitment to the values that have guided Chiesi through generations.”
“For us, science that cares means pursuing scientific innovation with responsibility for its impact on people, society and the environment. As ever, this principle underpins our identity as a Benefit Corporation and B Corp, and it makes sustainability an integral part of our business model, embedded in how we make decisions and create long-term value for patients, communities and future generations.”
