Celebrating the 2024 Communiqué Awards

This year, the Communiqué Awards returned for the 26th year to highlight the achievements and dedication of the healthcare and medical communications industry.

Taking place at the London Grosvenor House Hotel on 4 July and hosted by television personality Claudia Winkleman, the event welcomed hundreds of guests who were eager to find out who would be a 2024 Communiqué winner!

This year, the Awards included 31 categories, covering healthcare communications and medical affairs, as well as individual, team and company honours.

Taking to the stage to welcome the guests to the Awards were the two co-chairs, Catherine Devaney, founder of Curious Health Communications, and Neil Flash, owner of Ignition Consulting, who both took on the role for the first time this year.

Winning four awards was ‘Unseen Unheard: The Untold Breast Cancer Stories of Black Women in the UK’ by Mearns & Pike for Gilead Sciences in partnership with Black Women Rising.

There was also a new category for 2024, the Green Square and Passion Partnership Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Working, which went to ‘Teaming Up With the Mighty Vavengers in the Fight Against Female Genital Mutilation’ by Stirred for The Vavengers.

We are excited to bring you full coverage of the event. Turn to page 24 to see photos and other exciting details from the night and, as a first in PME, from page 31 we have the full list of the winners, highly commended and finalists from each category, including judges’ comments.

And on page 64 Danny Buckland looks at the omnichannel wonderland of opportunities, while on page 22, the article Creativity at Cannes highlights the winners at this year’s event.

Looking ahead, our September issue focuses on the end of Twitter and the rise of X, and how this has impacted the healthcare industry.
