A self-regulation and evaluation process involving the expert review of a clinical trial by the study sponsor. These reviews will take in such aspects of the trial as ethical considerations and scientific merit.
During a medical peer review a panel of physicians will conclude whether the physician under study has achieved accepted principles of diligence in offering medical services. A Peer Review takes place for various reasons, occasionally at the request of a patient, a medic, or an insurance operator. The term “peer review” is occasionally referred to as a performance appraisal.
