AbbVie has appointed Kelly Sanderson Schrems as Vice President and General Manager, UK. Sanderson Schrems succeeds Steve Hopkinson, who has been appointed Vice President of US Dermatology, after two years in the UK Vice President and General Manager role.
Sanderson Schrems brings 13 years of experience at AbbVie across commercial, operational and strategic leadership roles in the US and Europe. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Commercial Operations for AbbVie’s Oncology franchise. She has previous experience in the UK market, having spent a year in AbbVie UK’s Oncology franchise. Prior to joining AbbVie, Sanderson Schrems was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Commenting on her appointment, Sanderson Schrems said “I’m delighted to be returning to the UK to lead AbbVie’s UK business and to be building on the exceptional progress Steve has driven during his time as General Manager.
It is an important time to be stepping into this role. The 10 Year Health and Life Sciences Sector plans and the evolving access landscape are setting the direction for healthcare in the UK. I look forward to working in partnership with the NHS, policymakers and the wider life sciences community to support an environment where innovation can thrive for the benefit of patients, the health system and the UK economy.”
