The continued excellence and innovation of digital communication in pharma and healthcare was recognised among the winners at the PM Society Digital Awards, held at The Brewery in London.
The not-for-profit organisation celebrated ten years of its digital awards, with its biggest event so far. There was an even spread of winners across the categories, following a similar trend over the past two years. However, two agencies stood out for their excellence and innovation – Four Health and ARK.
Four Health took home the most awards, with three Golds in Patient Communications, Innovation – Best use of new technology and best Promotional Brand Campaign, in partnership with earthware.
ARK was also established as top of the field, winning two Gold awards for Best Film and best Agency Digital Team.
Among the other agency wins was earthware, who won one Gold award, two Silver and two Bronze awards, Havas Life Medicom who took home one Gold and two Silvers and MR who also took home a Gold and two Silvers.
Wound Care People & Mole, emotive, Envision Pharma Group, Oglivy Health, Ruder Finn, precisioneffect and Syneos Health Communications all also took home Gold awards.
Pharma companies and healthcare organisations also took home a number of awards, but no single company won more than one Gold award. Boehringer Ingelheim won a Gold and two Silver awards and AstraZeneca won Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.
Mundipharma and Kings College London both won a Gold and a Silver. Also winning Gold was Essity, Rare Disease UK, Galderma, Biotest, GSK, Johnson & Johnson and Edwards Lifesciences.

Winners of this year’s PM Society Digital Awards
This year’s awards had 15 categories, with the only new award being the addition of a category to judge digital campaigns developed with and for charities and patient organisations – won by emotive and Rare Disease UK for Spot the Rare Campaign.
The entries were examined by 41 judges in total, initially online and then at a second round which involved face-to-face presentations. The judges were mostly from industry and had expertise in marketing and digital, but there were also additional judges from the NHS, agencies and medics.
“I’m so pleased to see such a spread of winners this year from finalists representing 34 different agencies and 39 client organisations,” said Awards Chair Rachel Farrow.
She added: “This tenth anniversary event has been the best yet and we are so grateful to everyone that supports this event through entering, judging, sponsoring and helping us put on a fantastic awards ceremony. Here’s to the next ten years!”
