Nuclera appoints Carl Raimond as CEO

Co-founder and former CEO Michael Chen transitions to Chief Scientific and Business Officer

Nuclera has appoint Carl Raimond as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Michael Chen, Nuclera’s co-founder and former CEO, transitions to the role of Chief Scientific and Business Officer, continuing to provide scientific leadership while supporting market development and strategic partnerships.

Raimond joins Nuclera from Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he served as President of Proteomic Sciences following its acquisition of Olink Proteomics. He previously served as President of Olink Proteomics, helping lead the company through its $3.1bn acquisition by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2023. An experienced life-sciences executive, Raimond has also held senior leadership roles at PerkinElmer, Agilent Technologies and Affymetrix.

As Chief Scientific and Business Officer, Chen will focus on scientific strategy, market development and strategic partnerships, working closely with Raimond as the company enters its next phase of growth whilst maintaining continuity in Nuclera’s scientific direction.

Raimond said: “Nuclera has built a differentiated technology platform at the intersection of cell-free protein synthesis, digital microfluidics, and protein discovery. Michael’s scientific leadership remains central to Nuclera’s future, and I look forward to working with him and the team to translate this strong technology foundation into impactful solutions for our customers.”
