…the 2026 APEX Awards, recognising its Hear From Her: Women in Healthcare Leadership podcast series. Now on its fourth series, “Hear from Her” has established itself globally as an impactful voice in healthcare leadership content.

What is the Hear From Her podcast series?

The Hear From Her podcast is dedicated to advancing gender diversity and equity at the highest levels of the healthcare industry. Women remain underrepresented in healthcare leadership, and these consequences extend directly into patient care, from gender-based care inequality and longer diagnostic timelines for female patients living with a rare disease to the underrepresentation of women in clinical trials.

To address these critical gaps, each podcast episode elevates female leaders through candid conversations about closing the gender divide. The team seeks out women leaders across medical roles and specialties, including faculty, researchers, nonprofit leaders, and pharmaceutical executives, each bringing a unique perspective and personal story to inspire the next generation of women in healthcare.

How has the audience responded?

The podcast’s popularity soared this past season as guests addressed specialized topics, including gender biases in medicine, neuromodulation for mental health, and care for patients with rare diseases. Amplified by Medscape’s promotion to its worldwide membership of 13 million healthcare professionals, the audience responded strongly:

  • More than 12,000 listeners and downloads from 181 countries
  • Season 3 alone generated nearly 4,000 listeners and downloads
  • Listener growth of 27% in the three months prior to the award
  • More than 170,000 unique visits to the series landing page on Medscape.org
  • An audience that is 52% male and 48% female, reflecting the universal relevance of the topics

“With Season 4 on the horizon, Hear From Her: Women in Healthcare Leadership Podcast Series continues its bold exploration of critical topics, becoming a movement to reshape the future of healthcare leadership,”
Laura Gaskell, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Medscape Education
