Medscape Medical Affairs Celebrate a Double Win at the PMEAs

- PMLiVE

Last night the Medscape Medical Affairs team gathered in London for the Pharmaceutical Market Excellence Awards (PMEAs) where their entry, Transatlantic Exchanges: Driving Therapeutic Innovation in Oncology for the Benefit of Patients was a finalist in three different categories.

The team were delighted to pick up a double win in the following categories: Excellence in Healthcare Professional Education and Support Programmes and Excellence in Innovation. The programme also received a high commendation for Excellence in Collaboration and Partnerships.

The entry describes the collaboration between L’Institut Servier, Gustave Roussy (Villejuif, France), Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Boston, USA), and Medscape Medical Affairs to establish a global community of innovators across oncology, committed to accelerating new frontiers of clinical research by exploring all facets of care to realise a world where cancer is a curable disease.

The programme leveraged a multichannel engagement strategy, faculty-led sessions focused on the latest research advances in oncology, and a delegate engagement hub, uniting live and on-demand content in a flexible experience respecting all time zones.

Christina Hoffman, Global Head of Medscape Medical Affairs commented, “We’re thrilled our work has received such high accolades from the judges and it’s been recognised for its ambition and bravery. Every day we work to find new ways to help advance the care of patients, and the Transatlantic Exchange is a perfect example of one of our groundbreaking programmes in an area of high unmet need.”

The winners of the PMEA awards were announced 23 November 2022 at Sheraton Grand, London Park Lane.

Excellence in Healthcare Professional Education and Support Programmes

The judges were impressed with the Transatlantic Exchanges entry, commenting on how well written it was, and acknowledged its efforts to cover all aspects thoroughly. They commented that this was ‘a true example of excellence in education’, recognising that the ambition to pull off a project of its scale was commendable, given that at the heart of the entry was a necessary and important topic and it was made possible under very difficult circumstances. This entry, the panel agreed, was a joy to read, while the strategy brought a fantastic level of consistency – a great example of collaboration in action.

Excellence in Innovation

The judges were impressed by this entry’s well-constructed and carefully considered strategy, noting that the team identified a clear barrier to overcome, which it did so through a brave approach to innovation. The judges felt the entry was a great example of doing things differently, commenting that the bravery of this campaign was reflected in the ambitious task of holding difficult conversations around a complex topic. They were moved to see collaboration happen in a space where previously it would not have, in an area of high need. An excellent example of process and forward motion in healthcare.
