November 23, 2023 | Medscape, PMEA Awards 2023

Last night the Medscape Medical Affairs team gathered in London for the Pharmaceutical Marketing Excellence Awards (PMEAs) where their entries, Transatlantic Exchanges: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Oncology and The Global Neo Learning Summit: Navigating Nutrition for the Preterm Infant were finalists in across 3 different categories.
The team were delighted to pick up a High Commendation for their programme, The Global Neo Learning Summit: Navigating Nutrition for the Preterm Infant in the category of Excellence in Healthcare Professional Education and Support Programmes.
The entry describes the collaboration between Reckitt and Medscape Medical Affairs to establish the first Global Neo Learning Summit in 2022, a landmark initiative bringing together over 600 paediatricians and neonatologists from 70 countries. This groundbreaking summit addressed the complex clinical challenges faced by preterm infants, emphasising the crucial role of optimised nutrition in the first 100 days to enhance both short- and long-term neurodevelopment outcomes.
The summit, designed to bridge knowledge gaps in preterm nutrition, saw active participation in the live event along with great interest in the enduring programme. The collaborative efforts of healthcare professionals during the summit resulted in tangible improvements, as delegates demonstrated enhanced clinical knowledge and competency. This transformative experience had a lasting impact on the care of more than 30,000 preterm babies worldwide.
Caroline Phillips, Executive Director, Medscape Medical Affairs commented, “We are truly honoured to have the Global Neo Learning Summit recognised and Highly Commended by the PMEA judges. This acknowledgment underscores our joint commitment with Reckitt to advance medical knowledge and improve the care of preterm infants globally.
It is truly heartening to hear that our collaborative efforts are having a positive impact on patient care. We are immensely proud of the strides we are making to improve patients’ lives. This recognition serves as a testament to our commitment to advancing medical knowledge and creating positive changes that resonate in the lives of those we serve”.
The winners of the PMEA awards were announced on 22nd November 2023 at Sheraton Grand, London Park Lane.
