Governor Josh Stein marks strengthening North Carolina-Ireland trade relationship at Uniphar facility visit

Industry representatives, economic development leaders and senior executives from Uniphar plc gathered at the company’s new 330,000 sq. ft. Greenogue G2 facility in Dublin last week to welcome North Carolina Governor Josh Stein during his visit to Ireland.
The Governor’s visit reflects the growing economic relationship between North Carolina and Ireland with Irish companies employing around 7,000 people across the state, while North Carolina exported nearly $890 million in goods to Ireland last year. Uniphar’s expanding investment in North Carolina includes its 65,000 sq. ft. pharmaceutical and life sciences logistics hub in Raleigh, supporting the movement of healthcare products and services throughout the United States (US) and worldwide.

Welcoming Governor Stein, Ger Rabbette, Chief Executive Officer of Uniphar plc, highlighted the strategic importance of the facility as well as the company’s growing presence in the US.

North Carolina is recognized as one of the leading life sciences centers in the United States, with a thriving pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology sector. Uniphar’s 65,000 sq. ft. Raleigh distribution hub, located in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region, forms a key component of its global logistics network, connecting North American customers with the company’s wider operations across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
The Greenogue facility is Uniphar’s new 330,000 sq. ft. LEED Gold-certified distribution hub and one of the most advanced pharmaceutical logistics facilities in Europe. Featuring state-of-the-art automation and advanced storage and picking technologies, it forms part of Uniphar’s wider international infrastructure program to strengthen healthcare supply chains through a network of strategic distribution centers across Ireland, the UK, Europe and the United States.
From these facilities, Uniphar supports more than 200 multinational pharmaceutical and medical technology manufacturers, delivering healthcare products to over 160 countries worldwide.
Governor Stein praised both the scale of Uniphar’s investment in Ireland and the company’s commitment to North Carolina:
