The study, published in JMIR Medical Education, looks at the impact of Medscape’s online education in Alzheimer’s disease using Real-World Outcomes. The results showed a significant increase in the volume of Alzheimer’s diagnoses (F1900 = 5.50; P = .02) following Medscape’s online CME, resulting in several thousand more estimated diagnoses annually.

“A timely diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease makes a real difference to patients’ and caregivers’ lives. This study found CME learners’ increase in new diagnoses was 1.6 times greater than nonlearners’, leading to an estimated 7939 new diagnoses annually. This study highlights rigorous evaluation of Medscape’s CME and the power of our online education to drive meaningful differences in real-world patient care,” said Medscape Education Chief Impact Officer Katie Lucero, PhD.

Medscape Education has a commitment to publishing the outcomes and impact of their education in leading journals and at medical conferences around the world. Medscape Education published 145 studies, posters, abstracts, and other publications in 2024.
